PRIME MINISTER MUSA VISITS LOS ANGELES

Prime Minister, Said Musa, and other government officials will tomorrow be meeting with leaders of Belizean Organizations in Los Angeles. He is in the United States where yesterday he addressed the Millennium Summit of the United Nations in New York. Tomorrow’s discussion will focus on developments in Belize and how the respective groups can assist in this process. Following the meeting, Prime Minister Musa and his delegation will call on Mayor, Richard J. Riordan and Councillors of the City of Los Angeles and later meet with Belize’s Consul General, Roy Young. Following the meeting, the Prime Minister Musa and his delegation will take part in a luncheon meeting at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Costen Institute of Archaeology. The Sheriff’s Department in Los Angeles has arranged for the Belizean Government officials to visit penal institutions. Their day’s tour will end with a reception hosted by Movie Director, Francis Ford Coppola. On Saturday, Prime Minister Musa and his delegation will hold a Town Hall Meeting with the Belizean Community in Inglewood, California and attend a social gathering, hosted by the Belize Friendship Association. The delegation is expected back in the country on Monday, September 11th. At this time, Minister Maxwell Samuels is acting as Prime Minister.
