I wanted to bring some info to your attention that you may/may not be aware of. This year in 2012, Belize is the host country for COFECA, the Central American Federation in Los Angeles, so we need a heavy Belize presence to showcase what Belize is all about. This is where YOU come in.
The date of the parade is Sunday, September 23, 2012. We gonna have a 3 day weekend affair: Friday, Sept 21 thru Sept 23, 2012. We extend an invitation for you to come to Los Angeles & be a part of this occasion. The more Belizeans, the BETTA!!!
Friday-Official Kick Off @ Los Angeles City Hall then the Kick Off Pre-Parade Party
Saturday-MacArthur Park Festival: Central American food vendors, music. All free!
Sunday-COFECA Grand Parade: Belize is the host country. A Belizean will be the Grand Marshall & we'll be the lead w/a grand float, music, pageantry & revelry!!!
We're (Belizeans United of Los Angeles) meeting right now to ensure we put a quality Belizean product out there on the parade route for all to see as well as quality entertainment which demonstrates our diverse culture & heritage.
We will be having fundraisers leading up to September in which proceeds will go towards expenses for the float for the parade & other projects for that weekend. We're aslo going to have the 1st Annual Pre-COFECA Parade Kick Off Party Friday, September 21, 2012 which begins right after the City Hall Event.
Mark your calendars for SATURDAY, APRIL 21, 2012 for the Harrah's Rincon-San Diego Casino Bus Trip. Leaves Crenshaw & Rodeo @ 7am & comes back by 6pm. It's only $20/person. Includes food, games + other suprises. To book your seats, please contact Silvano: siltorres@sbcglobal.net
