For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. Western Caribbean Sea (AL97):
A large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the
western Caribbean Sea is associated with a broad area of low
pressure. Development, if any, of this system is expected to be slow
to occur before it moves inland over Central America tonight or on
Saturday. Regardless of development, this system is expected to
bring heavy rains over portions of Central America through the
weekend. This rainfall could produce flash flooding, along with
mudslides in areas of higher terrain.
