Reports: Said Musa & Ralph Fonseca Will Be Charged Criminally

Reliable reports to 7NEWS this evening say that the Barrow administration has decided – acting on legal advice - that it will bring criminal charges against former Prime Minister Said Musa, former Housing Minister Ralph Fonseca and former CEO in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amalia Mai. A high level government source tells us it could happen as early as next week – while other sources say it may be sometime after that. But the decision that it will happen seems firm and it was reportedly discussed at Cabinet.

The charges stem from what the Barrow administration asserts is the illegal diversion public funds to the Belize Bank to pay part of Universal’s indebtedness. A PUP release last week stated that the Taiwanese and Venezuelan governments knew that US$20 million grant funds would be used to settle the Universal debt. It is a huge story with very far-reaching implications – but there is little else to report, specifically our sources could not tell us what charges will be brought.

For historical perspective we note that Musa was charged in 1993 after the last UDP government was elected. The charges were later thrown out.

20 million US just does not vanished in thin Air like that .but Fonseca had to do something with it .may have stored it in his offshore well Investment or Swiss Accts.

Here is something that Dean can do. He can request a couple of impartial judges from the united kingdom. He needs to explain that it would be impossible to bring law and order into his country with this corrupt government....they will help him.

If that is the case..this party will not be able to do any good as the country is in so much debt.....
